Characteristic Agriturismo between Siena and Florence

Owner Riccardo called me while I was in Siena on a sunny Saturday afternoon in October. He told me that he owned a beautiful agriturismo in the Chianti region and that he would like to be on the website of My Italy Selection. It sounded promising, but first I had to see it with my own eyes. We made a date and that same week I found myself at the door, or rather the wrought iron gate of the agriturismo.

Fortunately Riccardo had not said too much. What a beautiful place! The agriturismo is a carefully restored manor house, situated among vineyards and cypress trees, halfway between Siena and Florence. In the Middle Ages the manor was used by pilgrims and merchants on their way from Florence to Volterra.

Riccardo and his family have transformed the original farmhouse into a beautiful agriturismo with 5 comfortable and spacious apartments and a swimming pool. They also live on the property. On request it is possible to arrange a tour of the the wine cellar and olive groves of the agriturismo, which are located about 10 km away.

The apartments

The five apartments in this farmhouse are renovated and furnished in a traditional Tuscan style. Terracotta tiled floors, beamed ceilings combined with beautiful antique furniture. The apartments are all on the ground floor and the bedrooms on the first floor. Each apartment has a private terrace.There is wifi on site

In short

This is a beautiful and authentic agriturismo with a very strategic location. Florence, Siena, Volterra and San Gimignano are all easily accessible from here. Riccardo was right: this is indeed a jewel in the Chianti region!
