Lovely hotel in the mountains where you can completely wind down

After having toured the Süd Tirol region for a week, I treated myself to a night of luxury and relaxation in this rurally situated hotel. If you want to sample the pleasures of relaxation, this is the place to go: The service is really outstanding! Unfortunately I could only stay for one night, because I would have loved to be pampered a bit longer. This hotel with spa and restaurant is a real family business. The succession of generations that have managed it have always made  hospitality their top priority. 

Even though the old farmer’s “Hof” has been renovated over the years, and modernized into  comfortable holiday accommodation, the family sets great store by creating an authentic family feeling. Their motto has remained unchanged over the years: luxury is not found in things, but in excellent service. It is even up there on the wall, next to the entrance: Benvenuto in buone mani: You are in good hands here! 

Tasteful interior

The hotel has a restaurant, bar, and its own spa. You can book B&B (includes breakfast) or half board (includes dinner too, not the drinks). All of the rooms are very comfortable and tastefully furnished using lots of wood, warm colours and atmospheric lighting. No effort has been spared to give you the wonderful feeling of coming home. In the evening I had dinner in the cosy restaurant. All the dishes were equally exquisite, but I’ll gladly return for the desserts alone! The huge selection of mouth-watering desserts made choosing so very hard that I decided to have several of them! The generous breakfast buffet was equally varied: Utter indulgence, and a great start to the day. 

The SPA

In the basement of the hotel is the secluded and wonderfully quiet wellness centre, with indoor pool, relax zone, sauna (both a traditional sauna and one where you can put on swimwear) and a Turkish bath. There is a beauty centre too, where you can get a massage and beauty treatment (at an additional cost). 

A small skiing area nearby

The hotel is situated 10 minutes by car from the Merano 2000 cable car. In winter, this is a fun, small-scale skiing area. In summer, the region is perfect for hikes and other enjoyable activities in the fresh mountain air. Merano itself is a gem of a little town with attractive shops, restaurants and bars. More than worth a visit: a must see, in my opinion. 

The rooms

The hotel has several types of rooms, each one as comfortable as the next, but varying in their level of luxury. In the new annex you’ll find the more luxurious suites that have a highly modern design. The standard rooms in the original part of the hotel have a more rustic interior. All of the rooms are fitted with Wifi, satellite TV, minibar and a locker. Some rooms have a balcony. 

In short

Let yourself be pampered in this luxurious family-run hotel. It’s an ideal place for a few days of relaxation. Merano (at about 12 km) is more than worth a visit, and there are numerous interesting activities for you to do in the surrounding area.
