Child-friendly agriturismo near the sea in Puglia

This child-friendly agriturismo is situated at the tip of a peninsula in Puglia, next to a large national park. I travelled over 1,200 kilometres to visit it, but every step of the way was more than worth it. The agriturismo is beautifully situated in the middle of an 8-hectare olive grove. The sea and a pristine sandy beach are only 5 minutes away by car. What is noticeable is the spacious layout of the property, and the abundant vegetation. Another nice aspect is that they produce and sell their own olive oil. Then there is a henhouse. The happy, free-range chickens provide the eggs for the restaurant.

Splendid pool and playground with trampoline

This agriturismo is a paradise for children, as there is no end of things to do for them here. And safe too, because cars are only allowed in the park for loading and unloading. There is ample space and opportunity for play. The children can have a great time in the playground and on the trampoline. Or splash around in the swimming pool, of course, which has a separate children’s pool. The pool is lined with loungers and parasols, for sun worshippers or relaxation in the shade.

Restaurant and pizzeria with wood-fired oven

The bar and restaurant are also near the swimming pool, and their opening times are geared to families with children. The owner’s father prepares and bakes delicious pizzas for you! But there is also the local cuisine of Puglia waiting to be discovered. This is the special skill of the owner’s mother who spoils the guests for choice: pasta, fresh fish, local cheeses, sun-ripened vegetables…….and more. You can also choose to have breakfast in the restaurant. The cakes, pies and cookies freshly baked by the owner’s wife make a festive start to every day! 

A smiling village close by

Just hop in the car to reach a smiling little town just 10 minutes away. Here you’ll find lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Take a relaxed stroll on the promenade, pick any of the terraces to enjoy a snack, drink, or delicious Italian ice-cream. The sea view is magnificent.. The nearby national park is highly recommended for a hike, mountain bike tour, or just to drive through or have a picknick.

The bungalows

Most of the bungalows have 2 bedrooms. Every bungalow is provided with airco, a private garden of 150m2 and a veranda with table and chairs. A lovely place to have dinner or sit quietly and sip a glass of wine while the children are asleep. The many plants and olive trees provide privacy for every bungalow. And to keep the little ones safe, the veranda can be closed off with a fence. If you need a cot or a highchair, just ask, they are available free of charge. Every bungalow has also got its own BBQ and two loungers in the garden.

In short

If you’re looking for a relaxed beach holiday with your children in Puglia, this is the perfect agriturismo for you! To get there you can fly to Pescara (225 km) or Bari (190 km). You can also choose to fly to Rome or Naples, but that means the drive will be longer. In my opinion, the destination more then makes up for that!
